Empowering Mid Canterbury’s Natural Heritage
At Kanuka Mid-Canterbury Regeneration Trust, we provide transformative services that focus on education, conservation, and community collaboration to help restore and protect the rich biodiversity of our region for future generations.
Educational Programs

Environmental Education
Our Environmental Education program engages children, youth, and the broader community to deepen their understanding of environmental issues and empowers them to make positive contributions. Through hands-on activities and workshops, we inspire a sense of responsibility towards our ecosystems.

Biodiversity Conservation
We promote and facilitate initiatives aimed at conserving and regenerating Mid Canterbury’s unique biodiversity. Our programs work collaboratively with local stakeholders to protect native species and their habitats, ensuring a healthier ecosystem for the future.

Predator Control Efforts
Our goal is to make Mid Canterbury predator-free by 2050 through systematic monitoring and removal of invasive species. We work with local communities to implement effective predator control methods, safeguarding our native wildlife and restoring natural populations.

Community Planting Events
We organize community planting events to enhance biodiversity and improve water quality. These hands-on opportunities allow volunteers to actively participate in growing native plants, fostering a stronger connection to the land and contributing to environmental health.
